Head of the Orator, Demosthenes.

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek

Summary

The head is made of white marble, with a grey-brown patina. A piece of the nose has been broken off and is missing. The crown and the rear-most section of the head have been hewn.

In his catalogue from 1951 Frederik Poulsen noted that red colour in the hair was visible to the naked eye.
